Wounded Warrior BC Run makes its way through Sayward to Campbell River

The Wounded Warrior Run BC is making its way to Campbell River on Feb. 27. The run was started by two Canadian Armed Forces members to raise awareness and money for the Wounded Warriors Canada.

The funds help support programming for veterans and first responders impacted by operational stress injuries, such as PTSD. The run is a relay-style with eight participants. It started in Port Hardy Feb. 25 on and ends in Victoria on March 3.

Nathalie Butler, who has served with the Canadian Armed Forces as a dental officer for six years, is running from Sayward to Campbell River and is due to arrive at Comfort Inn & Suites around 2:30 p.m. Afterwards, they will be at the Campbell River Legion Branch #137 at 5 p.m. for fundraising.

The run begins again tomorrow, Feb. 28, departing the Comfort Inn & Suits at 9 a.m.. Tomorrow's run will end at the 888 Wing Air Force Association in Comox at 3:30 p.m. Runners will also stop at the Oyster River Fire Department (12 p.m.) and the Comox Valley RCMP (2 p.m.).
