Offers the following services:- Immunizations (all ages), offered by appointment Thursday,9:00-11:30am & 1:00-2:30 pm. Immunization record must be broughtalong. Immunizations for measles, rubella, and mumps can be givenbetween ages 12-15 months, others usually 2 months. The followingimmunizations are offered:DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis)IPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine)Prevnar (Pneumocial vaccine for infants)MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)Hepatitis B-Hepatitis AGardasil (Vaccine used to prevent cervical cancer and precancerouscervical lesions)HIB (hemophilus influenza)DT Booster or TD (for older children)Varicella (chickenpox)TDYS- Tuberculosis Clinics provide confidential diagnosis, treatment(including medication), and follow-up. (Will do a free testing forpersons who have been exposed to the germ). TB clinic byappointment- HIV/AIDS antibody testing and pre- and post-test counseling.Free, confidential and anonymous. HIV clinic Tuesdays byappointment- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) home visiting, bereavementcounseling, and referral services- Lead Poisoning: Will provide lead testing, case management,nursing assessment, and arrangement of environmental inspection forchildren up to age six with a venous blood level at or above thelevel designated for case management by the Pa Dept. of Health.Provides general information on lead poisoning, includingprevention, treatment and hazard reduction. Lead testing byappointment 3rd Thursday- Investigation and control of reportable diseases. Educatespatient regarding possible source, transmission, andprevention/control measures. Investigations include reportablecommunicable and non-communicable diseases and food and/orwaterborne disease outbreaks- Outbreak investigation of multiple cases of illness linked to acommon source. Gathers information regarding symptoms, onset,activities, food and beverage history of ill versus non-illpersons. If threat of an outbreak that mass immunizations mayprevent or limit, the center may quickly establish massimmunization sites among the non-immunized population.- High risk infant follow-up program for families without healthinsurance, who have premature infants, or infants with congenitaldefects. Home assessment, health education, and growth anddevelopment monitoring are provided by a nurse.- Information and referral services on Hepatitis C, AIDS, geneticdisorders, cardiac, cleft palate, cystic fibrosis, phenylketonuria,spina bifida, sexually transmitted diseases. If there is a programat the state level for specific disorders, the staff will assistlocal residents in accessing these services.- PKU follow-up provided to infants with elevated phenylalaninelevels. Nurse will act as a liaison between the family and the PKUTreatment Center.- Rabies prevention. All animal bites are reported to the StateHealth Center. Both victim and owner are contacted and informed ofprotocol for confinement of the animal. If there is a risk ofrabies, a nurse will assess and educate the parties involvedregarding the need for rabies prophylaxis.- Community Education Programs on such topics as: AIDS, diabetes,health risk education, high blood pressure, and nutrition. Farm andfire safety education programs for health fairs and parochialschools, including Amish schools. Health and safety educationalprograms for day care and HeadStart staffs and WIC parents.- Provides information on West Nile Virus.
