Persons experiencing frightening desperation, loss of control or suicidal depression can receive immediate, sympathetic help from the Crisis Intervention Staff. Suicide Prevention is a major focus of Crisis Intervention. Crisis Intervention can assist in assessing what a person needs to alleviate the immediate crisis and then link an individual to services. Crisis Intervention also has the responsibility and authority to arrange involuntary commitments to an inpatient mental health unit.
