Things to do in Palm Beach Gardens: Veterans Day ceremonies, garden tour, storytelling

1. Veterans Day ceremonies: Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach will hold Veterans Day ceremonies Monday. Palm Beach Gardens will host its annual event beginning at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Plaza Amphitheater, 10500 N. Military Trl. The event includes a performance by the Florida Army National Guard's 13th Army Band, Gold Star Families Memorial Marker Dedication, and the Palm Beach Gardens Police & Fire Honor Guard. Limited seating will be provided. For information, visit https://bit.ly/2NuaSF5. North Palm Beach will hold its Veterans Day event beginning at 9 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 303 Anchorage Drive. Former U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer Lieutenant Kate Arrizza will be the keynote speaker.

2. Veterans Day Parade: Lake Park will host a Veterans Day parade Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning at the Clock Tower, on 7th Street and Park Avenue. The event is free. To apply as a participant, contact the Special Events Department at 561-840-0160 or specialevents@lakeparkflorida.gov. The parade will precede the 14th Annual Vets Day Car Show at Kelsey Park, 601 Federal Hwy. The event includes muscle cars, hot rods, customs, classic trucks, giveaways and 50/50 drawings. 3. Garden Tour: The Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will host its Annual Garden Tour through northern Palm Beach County Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to visit five private gardens and two public gardens, all landscaped with Florida native plants. One garden is in North Palm Beach, two are in Palm Beach Gardens and four are in Jupiter. Admission is $10 for nonmembers, and free for FNPS members and children under 13. Tickets can be purchased at the FANN Native Plant Show at the Mounts Botanical Garden on Friday, or on the day of the tour. 4. Tongues a'Wagging: Tickets are on sale for the Tongues a'Wagging community storytelling event Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Burt Reynolds Institute, 115 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach. The event gives participants the opportunity to share their life stories in an intimate setting. The topic for the event is "Gratitude -- Reasons to be Thankful."
